L.L. SOARES STEPS DOWN AS NEHW CO-CHAIR

Author L.L. Soares has stepped down as co-chair of the NEHW. His editorial about this is below:

Dear NEHWers,

I have decided to step down as co-chair of New England Horror Writers (NEHW).

This was a tough decision, but it's something I've been thinking about for awhile now. Between various other commitments, including the official Cinema Knife Fight site (which I update daily and write for regularly - and which seems to be growing a lot lately) and the fact that I haven't had a lot of time to devote to my fiction, especially a new novel I've had in the beginning stages for much too long, I just felt I was juggling a lot and couldn't really give NEHW the focus it deserved. The good news is that a lot has changed in the almost three years I've been co-chair with Dan Keohane.

The biggest plus is that we now have a NEHW Committee in place to deal with the various aspects of the organization, from events to get-togethers to the NEHW anthology (which will become a reality at some point, despite its being the hardest thing to accomplish since Day 1) to the newsletter. So it's not like things are going to change much with my absence.

Dan will continue as chair. And his new co-chair will be Tracy Carbone. (Welcome, Tracy!) So I will be leaving NEHW in capable hands. Tracy will also continue to be in charge of our bi-monthly get-togethers.

I will stick around a little while longer, to help Dan and Tracy get settled, and I'll continue to offer the Committee any advice they might need. But this is my farewell as co-chair.

It's been great working with everyone. And here's to New England Horror Writers staying strong, and continuing to grow.
